Layers

This body of work is the outcome of an extended interest in our mind’s ability to combine very different things together on the same level. It seems that this is one of the key ways in which personal memory, imagination and fantasy work. Our minds have the ability to conjure up on a mental screen a number of disparate images together in new configurations. It is this concept that has been explored through experimentation with painting and printmaking. The building up of the image through a number of layers serves as an analogy for the workings of our minds.
